Job description: Digital Communications Technology Teacher Job Summary: Assist students in meeting their academic and career goals by providing an inspired teaching environment through the highest quality of theoretical, practical and professional training. Support the academic department in maintaining a successful, efficient, ethical and regulatory accurate business within the overall goals and objectives. Prepares students to apply graphics to the design, editing and publishing of documents and utilize the World Wide Web. Web, video production, and print technology prepares individuals to apply HTML, XML, JavaScript, graphics applications and other authoring tools to the design, editing, and publishing (launching) of documents, images, graphics, sound, and multimedia products on the World Wide Web and media production. Elements of design, design layout, text and page composition, and business aspects of printing through practical image manipulation and good design principles will be acquired through this program.

Job Responsibilities:
Instruct assigned courses in accordance with course competencies/objectives in a safe learning environment.
  • Develop and utilize a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods designed to meet individual learning styles. Industry standards will be followed in the course of instruction and students will be able to achieve nationally recognized certification.
  • Students will earn certification in the Microsoft Office Software and Adobe
  • Coach, guide and empower students to achieve optimum success allowing students to possess a foundation of knowledge that may transfer to other career pathways working in the information technology field.
  • Enhance youth leadership and TSA as an integral part of instruction
  • Monitor, evaluate and document students' progress through observation, tests and examinations in both theory and practice.
  • Includes instruction in internet theory; web page standards and policies, elements of web page design, user interfaces, vector tools, special effects, interactive and multimedia components, search engines, navigation, morphing, e-commerce tools, and emerging web technologies.
  • Arrange students' field placement and monitor students' progress where applicable.
  • Ensure related clinical supplies and equipment are up-to-date and in safe working order.
  • Demonstrate evidence of professional growth and academic currency.
  • Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Participates regularly in staff development activities for the vocational programming within the district and state
  • 3-D Printing projects may be an aspect of the upper level course of instruction.
  • Coordinate with local higher educational institutions and state requirements for instructional expectations.
  • Establish and maintain open basis of communication with students, parents, staff, administration and community.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district and administrative policy (rosters, entries, registrations, TSA, etc.).
  • Development of an appropriate work based critique for student projects and student capstone
  • Involve and guide students in local, state, and national competitions as necessary with the TSA organization
  • Coordinate and establish applicable work based learning opportunities for all levels of students, including internships and dual enrollment opportunities
  • Participate and attend other campus activities, committees, Professional Learning Communities, and projects in relation to CTE Advisory Boards (on and off campus).
Instructor ? Career Technical Education Job Requirements
  • Teacher will be able to satisfactorily meet the certification requirements for a Skilled and Technical Sciences Teacher under Title 14 Section 1559 (preferred) or have a certification in the following: Technology Education, or Visual Arts (Digital Communication Technology)
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills are also essential.
  • Adobe Certified
  • ?Career and Technical Education? is also known as Vocational Education, Vocational Technical Education or Career Technical Education.
