POSITION DESCRIPTION
The St. James is seeking Part-Time Recreational Dance Instructors who love working with children at its Springfield, VA location. Candidates must enjoy working with children ages 4-12 years old and be committed to nurturing dancers in a supportive environment that instills creativity, technique, and a love for dance. This role will report to the Director of Dance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach beginner?intermediate level Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop, with a focus on creativity and age-appropriate sequential technical development in accordance with STJ curriculum.
- Choreography routines for in-house performances
- Assist the Director and other instructors with organizing and supervising in-house performances twice per year
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with dancers, families and guests of The St. James
- Supporting the safety and well-being of all members, guests and employees.
- Minimum one year of teaching or assist teaching 4?7 year old children
- Proficient in beginner-intermediate level ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop
- Experience with choreographing short pieces for children
- Experience with arranging in-formal performance
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Great customer service and communication skills
