Position Description:

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Men's Basketball Coach with the day-to-day operations of the Men's basketball program to include recruitment, retention and graduation of student athletes, fundraising, and marketing of the program. It also includes responsibilities to athletics game management, program fundraising and department wide fundraising. In addition, this position will be responsible for reporting game results immediately following contests as well as assisting in promoting the program through social media and other avenues. This is a professional staff position reporting directly to the Head Men's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director/Event Center Director.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree required: major in health, recreation, sports management or related field preferred.
• Prior knowledge and experience coaching college Men's Basketball or playing college basketball preferred, high school experience.
• Interpersonal Skills must be excellent
• Prior experience working in a team setting
• Must be eligible to obtain CDL within 3 months of hire.

CONTRACT SPECIFICS:

This is a full-time 234-day professional position beginning August 1, 2023.This is an exempt position with a salary range of $27,040-$29,000 commensurate with education and experience. Competitive fringe benefit package available through SBCCOE.

Northeastern Junior College, one of 13 member-colleges of the Community Colleges of Colorado, lies in the rural northeastern Colorado town of Sterling. The community of approximately 13,000 residents enjoys easy access to Denver, the Rocky Mountains and the western-agricultural lifestyle. Northeastern Junior College enrolls approximately 1,500 full and part-time students through a wide variety of majors in associate degree and certificate programs.
