THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
The Agile Coach encourages, empowers and coaches both our agile pods and leadership. The Agile Coach will coach all pod team members formally and informally, with a keen focus on the pods? Product Owners, Tech Leads and Scrum Masters, striving to unlock the potential in everyone. The Agile Coach will embrace change while acting as the defender of Agile methodologies and bring to life core Agile principles. This role will be responsible for shifting and transforming mindsets and coaching and enabling others to adopt new ways of working. The Agile Coach will educate and mentor all levels of the organization, maintain continuous business engagement and leverage agile techniques to foster mindset shifts and drive towards value delivery.
YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
- Scale agility at organization-level, guiding and coaching leaders on how to build governance processes, shift mindsets and behaviors, and scale agile practices.
- Support 3-5 pods on Agile ways of working, continuously reviewing industry best practices to refine as needed.
- Provide hands-on coaching to pods to build key capabilities of the pods, and providing input into areas of opportunity leaders can help with.
- Lead workshops covering key concepts and principles, OKR writing, Sprint 0 activities and other pod kick-off activities
- Lead coaching 1:1?s for other pod teams members including Scrum Masters, Tech Leads and UX Designers or Leads as needed.
- Partner with Scrum Masters to review pod maturity during sprint retros on a quarterly basis, pushing for continuous improvement of the pods.
- Identify risks and blockers for pod progress along Agile maturity, proposing and working through resolutions with leadership.
- Update and refine Agile playbook to create standardized ways of working, collaborating with pods and sponsors as through partners.
- Champion the use of metrics and other objective measures by teams
- Hold stand-up meetings with cross-functional teams to review project status
- Coach pods as they conduct first sprint of Agile events and through key deliverables.
- Lead coaching 1:1?s for Product Owners to write, refine, and share updated product artifacts (e.g., OKRs, roadmaps, and release plans)
- Coach pods through MVP launch strategy and initial value capture of released product.
- Coach Product Owners and Tech Leads to prepare for QBR process.
- Provide continuous insights, guidance and oversight to the entire pod, utilizing DF CM for capability building
- Support Product Owner and Scrum Master for release/quarterly planning with lens of value orientation.
- Bachelor?s degree, with 7-10 years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum preferred
- Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Coach, Product Owner and/or Agile Coach preferred
- Knowledgeable about various Agile methodologies and experienced in coaching Scrum and Kanban teams
- Knowledgeable about various product management best practices, including OKRs, roadmap building, MVP scope, end to end product release, metrics tracking etc.
- Strong communication skills ? able to propagate information promptly, clearly and unambiguously
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to coach and mentor the team
- Active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize the team?s potential vs. active ?doer? on pod
- Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team
- Self-aware of cognitive biases and their impact on decision making. Decision making focused on the primary aim to build high performing teams, develop team members and outcomes that matter to customers
