Job Goal: Utilize the Delaware Early Learning Foundation Standards and Teaching Strategies Gold Developmental Domains to provide instruction to students in the areas of gross motor and fine motor, as well as social emotional learning through visual arts, musical concepts and expression, dance and movement concepts, and drama through actions and language. Provide individualized instruction and maintain low student to teacher ratios. Assist students with developing the readiness skills needed to enter kindergarten. Preschoolers in this program have the opportunity of being in an inclusive setting with "typical" peers.

Job Qualifications:
1. Bachelor?s and/or Master?s degree in Early Childhood Special Education.
2. Possess or be eligible for educator licensure and/or certification in Delaware for Early Childhood Special
Education Teacher.
3. Exceptional classroom management, organization, planning, instructional delivery, leadership, and
technical skills and the ability to utilize differentiated instructional methods to engage students in positive
learning experiences.
4. Outstanding ability to motivate and build relationships with students and parents to promote student
Achievement and strengthen community partnerships.
5. Commendable history of effective leadership, extra-curricular participation, an acceptable attendance
record, and exemplary performance.

Essential Functions: * Develop daily and unit lesson plans as related to gross motor, fine motor, social emotional, and integrated arts.
  • Develop a scope and sequence for learning that align with goals, the curriculum, and that integrate technology.
  • Maintain appropriate and applicable pacing, expectations for student outcomes, and incorporate assessments to monitor and measure student performance and learning.
  • Effectively plan for substitute teachers as appropriate and applicable and relate substitute lesson plans to the Delaware Early Learning Foundation Standards and Teaching Strategies Gold Developmental Domains.
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes student engagement and aligns with expectations outlined in the standards.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of student achievement and behavioral performance.
  • Collect and report data on gross motor, fine motor, social emotional, and integrated arts performance and progress.
  • Demonstrate fairness and consistency in dealing with students; and, speak and write clearly, correctly, and at an appropriate level for student understanding;
  • Comply with policies, regulations, and procedures of the school district and building; communicate effectively with parents and work collaboratively with staff.
  • Display high level professional conduct and maintain a professional image at all times; establish and maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • May be asked to participate in extra-curricular activities and/or leadership roles outside the classroom.
  • Continue to grow as a professional educator.
  • Perform other duties and/or complete special projects as assigned.
