  • Completion of Master?s degree program in the area of Speech and Language Pathology
  • ASHA (American Speech/Language & Hearing Association) certified or working toward ASHA certification during Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language or willingness to learn
  • Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday.
  • Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance).
  • Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning and provision of speech and language therapy for children that includes assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language development, articulation, voice, oral motor, receptive and expressive language.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic and evaluative testing.
  • Present well-constructed, thorough, reports related to completed assessments and observations of students.
  • Responsible for the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation for speech and language services.
  • Maintain adequate records of treatment and data of the IEP objectives for the students being served.
  • Meet with parents and advise them of their child?s areas of need and progress of development.
  • Make recommendations for the level and frequency of services as related to the areas of need in the IEP.
  • Work with and assist other team members with providing necessary carry-over of strategies and skills into all other areas of the students learning opportunities.
  • Prepares reports and information as prescribed by DSD, Christina School District, the Department of Education and the Cost Recovery office.
  • Maintains a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnel.
  • Pursues opportunities for professional growth.
