Qualifications Required:



1. Washington State Teacher's Certificate appropriate for high school



2. Endorsement in Secondary Ed (Math, English, Science)



3. EL/ESL or bilingual education endorsement



4. Satisfactory evaluations



Qualifications Preferred:



1. Evidence of positively working with team members, classroom teachers, paraeducators, and all other school staff.



2. Evidence of successful experience collaborating with staff to meet the varied needs of students in an MTSS system.



3. Demonstrated taking initiative and working collaboratively with others.



4. Experience with math intervention curriculum and instructional strategies.



5. Experience with small group remedial math instruction.



6. Experience collecting and analyzing assessment data for math intervention programs and implementation of instruction to meet identified needs.



7. Evidence of successful experience of planning for and implementation of elementary math program and classroom instruction.



8. Ability to supervise, train and evaluate paraeducators in program curricula, instructional strategies, and small group classroom management.



9. Evidence of recent successful experience working with at-risk students including multi-language learners, migrant students and children in poverty.



10. Experience facilitating grade level data meetings.



11. Willingness to participate in parent and instructional meetings beyond the normal school day.



12. Experience in administering district and statewide assessments - including but not limited to MAP, Star Math and/or Reading, and SBA.



13. Working knowledge of PowerSchool, Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications.



14. Punctual and consistent attendance.



15. Able to work with interruptions while balancing daily responsibilities.



16. Successful experience working with students who need additional support.



17. Experience assisting teachers with the development of lesson plans to improve student achievement.



18. A thorough understanding of district and state assessments and how to interpret data.



19. Ability to communicate well with students, staff and parents - both oral and written.



20. Evidence of motivating and instructing students of all ability levels.



21. Enthusiastic and displays an overall optimism toward teaching and student learning.



22. Flexible in learning new concepts, cooperates with others, and adapts to a variety of assignments and conditions.



23. Current participant and a regular lead contributor to a district level committee (will be verified with Teaching and Learning)



24. Current building leader and lead contributor to building instructional initiatives (for example: GLAD model teacher, LMS lead, ATP chair staff presenter)



25. Provide information about student language development on IEP teams. Support school psychologists with information about student language development (for example: ML student report card, ML student portrait, etc.)



26. Experience in co-teaching, co-planning, and/or peer coaching



27. Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching strategies for creating a language-rich, rigorous classroom environment.



28. Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to support and enhance instruction and learning.



29. Successful experience working with Multilingual Learners (MLs) as well as students with special needs.



30. Knowledge with planning and delivering instruction around various forms of data: academic, behavior, demographic, and attendance.



31. Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL).



Job Description:



1. Provide supplementary instructional support to at-risk students (academic and behavior)



2. Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with all staff members.



3. In partnership with grade teams and administration identify students who will be served under LAP identification and update regularly.



4. Work with classroom teachers and intervention team to place students in intervention groups.



5. Prepare materials and lessons for paraprofessionals who provide math intervention support for students grades K-5.



6. Supervise paraeducators assigned to work with small groups.



7. Provide an effective program of instruction in accordance with curriculum and consistent with physical limitations of the location provided and needs and capabilities of individual or student groups involved.



8. Assist in the selection of supplemental instructional materials with the approval of the building Principal.



9. Generate monthly Time and Effort reports and other documents for all LAP paraeducators and gather signatures monthly.



10. Support staff and students as the building assessment coordinator.



11. Attend all district trainings pertaining to the assessment coordinator position and provide corresponding training to all staff, as applicable.



12. Maintain all records according to specified timelines and LAP program requirements.



13. As an active member of the Tier II Intervention team, review and analyze SWIS data to further develop interventions to support students.



14. Intervene in potential conflicts utilizing restorative practices for the purpose of diffusing confrontations, minimizing disruptions, and promoting student success.



15. Support teachers in the implementation of successful student interventions plans.



16. Encourage parent involvement, participate in parent/teacher conferences, and create and maintain good relationships with parents.



17. Prepare progress reports and report cards for qualified students.



18. Attend and participate in faculty and team meetings as scheduled.



19. Perform other duties as assigned.



20. Assist staff with developing lessons based on the standards to support teachers working within an MTSS model.



21. Guide teachers in the use of assessment to guide instruction: universal, formative, summative, required state assessments.



22. Conduct whole staff professional development activities focused on instruction along with follow up modeling and support.



23. Participate in the school improvement process (plan-do-study-act) with the building administrator



24. Work with individual or small groups of teachers to develop practices in planning to standards, looking at student data, designing instruction.



25. Provide instructional strategies resources for teachers in all content areas.



26. Support teachers in working with adopted curriculum and incorporating language development within content.

Application Procedure: In-District staff must complete an internal online application by 10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date. In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days, or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices, procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position, the principal will offer the employee the position. In the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position, the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled in-building after the eight day period, the position will be offered to the qualified, most senior in-district applicant, if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
