Job description: The Community Education Secretary is responsible for day-to-day office functions and customer relations in support of Community Education program areas.

Position Requirements:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, with additional training in a two or four year program preferred. The successful candidate will have basic first aid and CPR certification, successful experience in office procedures, customer service, high-proficienty in digital literacy and previous work experience in a continuous improvement learning environment. Reliable attendance required.

Language Skills:
Bilingual skills preferred. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Physical Demands:
Mobility and ability to occassionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Hearing, speech, and sight are required. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Excellent customer service practices and support for program participants and staff, some of which may have limited english proficiency. Flexibility in day-to-day interactions with staff, a high degree of accuracy in record keeping, data entry, receipting revenues, production of print materials; highly developed skills in the application of technology to efficient office operations; excellent organization and communication skills; a mission of service, ability to maintain confidentiality of student data in accordance with privacy laws and a willingness to challenge personal growth and development. A successful candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to a variety of lifestyles and the ability to communicate with a diverse cross-section of individuals and organizations.

Hours/Schedule:
Typical day will be 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday with some flexibility for occasional evening committments. .75 hour unpaid lunch. 220 available workdays to be assigned to the annual program calendar with the Director of Community Education. Fulltime schedule August 1 through June 28 of the program year. Minimal hours during the month of July to maintain core functions of the office.

Classification / Pay Rate:
B-2-1 $17.03 / Contingent upon 2023-2024 contract negotiations
