Position Description



The University of Mississippi Department of Teacher Education is seeking to ?ll a tenure-track position in Special Education in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The Special Education program reflects an active faculty devoted to teaching, service, scholarship, and professional development.



This is a full-time position with a nine-month appointment. Start date to be determined. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is ?lled.



We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in evidence-based intervention practices for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (e.g., autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, and other disorders that occur during the developmental period (birth to age 18). Responsibilities for this position:



  • Teaching courses that support the Special Education graduate and undergraduate programs, specifically in the Applied Behavior Analysis program;

  • Supervising graduate practicum experiences;

  • Maintaining an active research agenda related to their subspeciality or expertise within behavior analysis;

  • Advising and mentoring graduate students and assisting with student support and recruitment activities;

  • Collaborating in department and university program development and committees.

Minimum Education/Experience



1. An earned doctorate in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related field. Exceptional ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered.

2. Currently maintain BCBA or BCBA-D status.

3. Excellent teaching skills

4. Ability to teach classes in in-person, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online delivery formats.

5. Scholarly productivity in ABA, including behavioral research;



ditional Quali?cations for Associate Professor Rank:

1. Demonstrated evidence of at least three years of prior experience teaching students with ASD in public and/or private schools.

2. Demonstrated evidence of at least three years of prior experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with experience supervising aspiring behavior analysts

3. Experience teaching synchronous and asynchronous online classes.

4. Record of scholarly activity.
