JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Wilkes-Barre is accepting applicants for a Part Time Math Tutor for Student Support Services , a federally funded TRiO grant program.

Minimal Bachelor's degree preferred Master?s Degree in Math or math related field.

Responsibilities/Expectations
  • 10 hours of tutoring per week during the fall and spring semesters
  • Ability to provide comprehensive math tutoring to a population of primarily first generation college students; including college algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics
  • Tracking of student?s progress in math courses and periodic presentations of workshops to college students
  • Record keeping of tutoring contacts required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The academic year begins in late August and ends the first week in May
