Position:
Specials Content Area Teacher (ex: PE, General Music, Instrumental Music, Art, World Languages, etc.)

Description:
Under the supervision of the Principal and Director of Student Services supports the development and implementation of the instructional program for students. Develops high quality instruction linked to state and national learning standards as well as district goals. To instruct in an inclusive environment while understanding the needs of the diverse learner. To create an inquiry-based learning environment of high student engagement.

Provide researched-based instructional practices to support academic & social-emotional needs of students and promote student growth.

Demonstrates ability to utilize a variety of data sources and problem-solving structures in order to ensure the academic and social emotional success of all students. Makes data-driven decisions using formative and summative assessments.

Demonstrates current pedagogical practices in the classroom through participation in a professional learning community.

Collaborates with other teachers to promote student learning and growth

Completes and communicates general paperwork for assigned students

Qualifications:

Possess Professional Educator License

Holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Meets all certification requirements including teaching & appropriate content area endorsements in the state of Illinois.

Proven ability to provide specially designed instruction to students with a wide variety of needs and abilities

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to meet individual student needs and the needs of groups of students

Demonstrated time management skills; ability to handle multiple demands

Proficiency using a variety of technology and software including word processors, spreadsheets, and databases

Capacity to learn new software and apply skills within the work environment.

Candidates must possess strong collaborative, communication, organizational and computer skills

Ability to work independently, engage with the public, and appropriately communicate information to District administration and staff, as well as to the community

Rate of Pay:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience - Based on Winfield Teachers Association & Winfield Board of Education contract if candidate is certified through Illinois State Board of Education as a certified school nurse.

Work Calendar:

School year calendar in alignment with WTA/BOE contract. Conference days are flexed to before and after school year to allow for data review and reporting

Hours:

Position hours are 8:00 am - 3:30 pm

Participates in IEP conferences including the preparation of IEP goals and paperwork in compliance with established laws, regulations, district policies, and procedures.

Provides evaluation information necessary for the completion of comprehensive case studies including the administration and interpretation of all necessary assessments as well as establishing program monitoring systems to effectively evaluate student progress

Uses formative and summative assessments to inform instructional process.

Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to ensure that all students learn.

Some lifting of students, equipment, or materials may be required, not to exceed forty (40) pounds. Lifting of over forty (40) pounds will require the assistance of another adult

Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, Principal or Administrative designee
