BASIC FUNCTION

The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities and Local Education Agencies (LEA). The New Jersey Tutoring Corps is seeking to hire Site Coordinators to oversee the site logistics and tutor performance during its school year program. Site Coordinators will each be responsible for overseeing work at one site. Site Coordinators will be required to be on-site on days in which tutoring occurs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Works with the Director to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community.
  • Ensures that Tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed.
  • Completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns.
  • Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other Site Coordinators.
  • Manages the Tutor's work schedules.
  • Apprises the Program Director of staff of issues immediately and helps work to resolve them.
  • Works with Instructional Coaches assigned to sites to review Tutor performance and provide guidance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s or Master's degree in the field of education
  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
  • Experience in teaching
  • Past history of overseeing the work of others
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Employer Qualifications:
  • Final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
  • Meet COVID requirements of the Local Education Agency (LEA) site at which you are working - show proof of vaccination.
  • Mask rules for LEA must be followed while indoors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, substitute teacher, teacher, community member who works with children.
Site Information
  • Location: Achieve Community Charter School- 534 Clinton Ave Newark, NJ 07108
  • Embedded school days- 5 days a week (Mon- Fri)
  • Work hours to not exceed 29 hours per week
  • Program will run for 24 weeks (Fall & Spring sessions)
