Job Responsibilities



RESPONSIBILITIES



Faculty, Staff, Student Support


  • Assists with Academic Action process (letters, tracking, appointments, contracts, etc)

  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating change of program requests (tracking, processing, advisor assignment)

  • Coordinates with faculty on test make-ups, scheduling test graders, tutoring assignments, and tutor schedules

  • Tracks coop evaluations and communicates information to stakeholders, managing process to ensure students are correctly enrolled

  • Tracks and manages certifications for the student certification process

Event Coordination

  • Provides logistics support and planning for college and department events (New Student Orientation, Commencement, Future Faculty Career Exploration Program, Holiday party, Diversity Events, etc)

  • Collaborates with Director of Community Engagement and Student Diversity Initiatives, with planning, publicizing, and executing events

  • Assists with hosting hospitality events to welcome new students/families, including coordinating department tours

Administrative/Clerical

  • Assists the Department Chair, as requested, in various aspects of duties, assignments and projects.

  • Provides administrative support to the Department and Program Chairs as well as the other administrative staff

  • Manages department electronic file system and processing forms

  • Schedules academic visits, including coordinating ambassadors, lab tours, and faculty visits

  • Maintains office and hospitality supplies using electronic ordering system.

  • Manage electronic display boards and social media promotion

  • Creates, mails, and tracks student certificates for professional trainings

Job Summary



RIT's Department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MMET) is seeking a Staff Assistant to provide administrative assistance and support to stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Department Chair, this position facilitates communication with peers, coordinating tasks, and facilitates a team-based environment by willingly providing backup for other support staff when needed for events, projects and activities.
