The City of SeaTac's Parks Community Programs & Services Department is seeking a Recreation Leader 2 to work under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Specialist to support the daily operations of the Youth Program. Thls is a variable hourly position.



Representative Duties



Youth Program

Before School; Mon,--Fri. 6:00 a,m,- 8:45 a,m,

After School; 3:00--6:00 p.m.

(1:30 - 6:00 p.m. on early dismissal Friday aligned with Highline School district)



Greet children and parents. Supervise activities before and after school programs up to 1-12

youth students ages 5-12 at Bow Lake Elementary School, Supervise and lead activities such as crafts, games, tutoring, cooking, outside activities, sports and athletics and swimming at YMCA.

Ensure activities are safe, proper and appropriate. Supervise staff as assigned. Maintain

program equipment and ensure facility and grounds are kept clean and litter free.



Teen Program

Mon.-Thurs. 1:30 p.m, - 5:15 p.m. (up to 16 hrs per week)

Fri, - 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m,



Conduct indoor and outdoor recreation activities for middle and high school students at the

Valley Ridge Park Community Center. Plan, coordinate and lead groups in arts & crafts, sports,

special events/ educational activities such as video games, ping pong, board and card

games, soccer, basketball, athletics and ultimate frisbee, Ensure activities are safe, proper

and appropriate. Supervise staff as assigned.



Required Education and Experience



  • 18 years of age.



  • Six months of related work experience.



  • Community recreation and/or education program experience.



  • A combination of experience and training.

Licenses and Other Requirements



  • A valid CPR and First Aid Certificate is preferred. Ability to obtain within 30 days of hire required.

  • A valid Washington State Driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required if the employee is required to drive. Some Recreation Leader 2 positions must drive, and some must stay on site, and are not required to drive.

  • A three-year driving abstract must be submitted prior to hire if required to drive.

  • Proof of full vaccination in accordance with the governors requirements.
