The Writing Center seeks to fill a vacancy for fall, spring, and/or summer semesters on the Uintah Basin Campus. The successful applicant will be expected to perform both face-to-face tutoring as well as on-line live tutoring via .



Responsibilities



This part-time job involves helping students become better writers. This position will require successful applicants to work an average of ten to twelve hours per week as Writing Center peer responders.



Qualifications



  • Successful completion of English 1010 and 2010.

  • Must be familiar with (or willing to learn) on-line tutoring interface.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a desire to read and respond to student writing assignments.

  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
