Job description: Essential Duties
1. Oversees and coordinates program activities. Establishes, selects, implements, and coordinates administrative functions, procedures, and systems. 2. Based on knowledge of and experience with program activities, objectives and staff, serves as principal source of information on policies, procedures, programs and office activities. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with internal and external contacts. 3. Processes and monitors expenses and ensures adherence to budgetary guidelines. Prepares budget drafts based on existing budgets. May oversee, coordinate and/or complete applications and materials needed for grant submission. 4. Composes substantive correspondence and written material. Determines sources of data. Compiles, synthesizes and manipulates data. Summarizes findings and writes, produces and distributes reports or portions of reports. May create simple databases. 5. Provides editorial support for a journal/publication. Proofreads and edits material for grammatical and factual accuracy. Tracks copy through various editing and production stages. Communicates with authors, printers, and others concerned with published work. 6. Oversees, instructs, and coordinates activities of support staff. 7. Ensure compliance with University, Federal, and State guidelines, rules, and regulations. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Position Focus:
Reporting to the ISM Marketing & Communications Manager, the ISM Marketing & Communications Program Coordinator will understand and promote the ISM's mission, including its academic programs, concerts, conferences, lectures, and special events. The position will provide high-level administrative and analytical support for the ISM's digital marketing efforts and publications to enhance visibility and reputation with the goal of improving audience engagement and attracting new students, fellows, and audiences for concerts and events. Review, edit, and post event information to events calendars at Yale and externally. Coordinate distribution of weekly all-alumni events newsletters as needed. Monitor performance such as open rates, click-throughs, and event calendar web traffic. Respond to or forward replies as needed. Post ISM and ISM-affiliated events to the Yale calendar. Monitoring, updating, and building website content (including video) for the ISM and its programs including page updates, page formatting, and adding articles and offsite articles to appear in the News & Features section. Provide support for ISM's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, and possibly TikTok. Assist in the creation of ISM-specific social content, and schedule, post, and monitor performance. Triage, respond to, and escalate comments on social channels, as appropriate. Regularly update the video-on-demand page on the ISM website to highlight new YouTube or Vimeo content. Track ISM events calendar to ensure optimal scheduling of email marketing and that events are cross listed into Yale and other events calendars, tagging as appropriate. Provide analytical support for overall ISM communications and marketing efforts, including researching and reporting on relevant metrics and outcomes. Track and summarize information such as articles written and website metrics for monthly communications reports sent to faculty and staff. Collaborating with other ISM departments, coordinate the process of producing printed programs using established style guidelines and timelines from production schedules. Contribute to the development of outreach plans for ISM initiatives, programs and events, occasionally assisting with event management. Assist in the preparation of publications, including online scholarly publications support, including using a customized Wordpress platform, and working with editors of non- scholarly publications.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Advanced degree in Music, Divinity, or related field. Ability to work on Mac and PC platforms. Photography and video capture using DSLR camera or similar and editing skills. Experience with website management, in particular using the Drupal content management system, is highly desirable.
