The selected candidate will manage project-level regulatory approvals and commitments; determine the effects of transportation projects on significant resources; and develop and implement appropriate treatment of affected resources in project design and construction. The selected candidate will apply cultural resource management principles and techniques in intra- and interagency coordination of VDOT projects in accordance with Federal and State environmental laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and interagency agreements. The selected candidate will coordinate with various state, federal, tribal, and other stakeholders; provide advanced technical expertise in transportation systems cultural resource management to staff; develop scope of work on projects, negotiate with consultants, and determine acceptance of completed studies in accordance with professional standards; and provide cultural resource training for VDOT and Locality audiences.
