Compensation Type: Salaried Compensation: $55,000.00 Job Summary The Coordinator for the ASPIRE program, will promote, support, and advocate for the effective delivery of quality adult literacy services for individuals with limited English skills who need assistance acquiring skills to be successful in post-secondary education training, and employment. The Coordinator is responsible for managing... classes by ensuring that enrollment, orientations, and assessments are carried out successfully by working closely with the ESOL Instructor, ASPIRE Manager, and Director. The position requires the accurate tracking of student performance by collecting and analyzing data to make program and budget decisions. Willingness to coordinate additional services such as tutoring/additional instruction, child care options, travel options, ESL referrals, and referrals to other social services to ensure that students enrolled complete the program. The Coordinator will be required to participate in training provided by Columbus State Community College, the State of Ohio, and curriculum vendors to manage class schedules and instructional needs of instructors and students. Program Operations & Administrative Support: Ensure curriculum and instruction are tailored to meet the individualized needs and learning styles of students, guided by assessment outcomes shaping personalized learning plans. Maintain currency of written and online curriculum, ensuring relevance and suitability for adult learners. Collaborate with students to overcome barriers by acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to make well-informed referrals to both program and community support services. Uphold accurate and punctual record-keeping practices, tracking enrollment data, placement and progress testing, attendance, retention rates, exit follow-up details, and instructor certifications. Provide consistent and systematic support, including regular observations and guidance for instructors, to maintain instructional quality and program effectiveness. Streamline the coordination of classes, workshops, and events to optimize resource utilization and accommodate the diverse schedules of learners effectively. Conduct regular follow-up communications with program graduates to evaluate their progress, collect feedback, and offer ongoing support. Take proactive measures to manage instructional materials, ensuring their availability and functionality to enhance the learning environment. Recruitment & Retention Events Conduct orientation sessions to support program applicants and guide applicants through the enrollment processes. Explains the enrollment, placement testing, and class registration processes. Works in close partnership with the program manager and instructor to provide a seamless transition for students from orientation through course completion of required Basic English levels based on student placement testing. Assists in the planning, implementation, and student recruitment events. Helps identify, plan, schedule, and implement learning activities appropriate to student needs. Maintains records of progress, attendance, and scores for students. Supports student transition to postsecondary education or training. Data & Reporting Uses technology and systems to track and report program results with ongoing data management to document student progress. Maintains confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information. Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation including enrollment material, evaluation, test results, attendance, and status reports. Completes project reports. Identifies best practices from peer institutions, industry partners, and communities of interest that support the overall project scope and quality. Prepares and presents status reports to all levels of management. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in a closely related field of study Experience working with adult learners Additional Requirements: State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions.
