The Education & Training Specialist, HIP will provide evidence-based information to people seeking breast health/cancer information through creation and deployment of key educational resources, and alignment of evidence based messaging across the organization. They will support Komen by providing technical... expertise and review for breast health/cancer information and vetting of partners from a mission perspective.
The Education & Training Specialist, HIP team is a member of the education team within Komen?s Mission division. The Education team supports Komen?s role as an evidence-based organization by providing evidence-based information for those seeking breast health/cancer information and building key education strategies and engagement with the breast cancer community and the public.
What You Will Bring to the Table
The Education & Training Specialist, HIP will:
Provide safe, accurate, current, consistent and evidence-based breast health/breast cancer information and messages for Komen. Ensure language is engaging, reader-friendly and culturally- responsive for the intended audience.
Assess the need for new educational resources by gathering input from advocates, staff, the public, surveys and/or scientific research findings and contribute to resource development or revisions.
Manage the review and update process for assigned educational resources.
Collaborate on the design, development and implementation of educational programs and initiatives as assigned.
Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to disseminate evidence-based breast health and breast cancer information through multiple venues, tailoring as appropriate for audiences, format and method of distribution.
Provide input, resources and content for online Komen products containing breast cancer information, including fact sheets, press releases, blogs, social media, Komen websites, etc. from the marketing and communications teams.
Collaborate with mission communications, learning and development, community health and other internal and external stakeholders to develop a comprehensive breast cancer training plan for staff.
Represent Komen at external conferences, meetings and exhibits through formal or informal presentations.
Support the development team by vetting potential partners and education partnerships to ensure they align from a mission perspective and messaging or collaborations are evidence based.

Work Experience: 2 ? 5 years
Education: Bachelor?s Degree: Health Education, Health Communication, Public Health
We Already Know You Will Also Have
A Bachelor?s degree in Public Health or related field.
Experience designing, developing, measuring and evaluating public health education and training content, curriculum, supporting materials, etc. for muti-cultural audiences.
Experience designing, developing, measuring and evaluating public health education and training content, curriculum, supporting materials, etc. for virtual audiences.
Experience developing culturally-and linguistically-responsive educational resources applying principles of health education, e.g., consideration of health literacy, use of plain language, adult learning principles, cultural competency for diverse populations.
A minimum of 2 years? experience working in women?s health, cancer, health education or health-related field.
An eye for creating engaging and effective visuals and supporting training resources.
Knowledge of breast health/breast cancer issues and information.
Proven ability to take responsibility for producing timely and high-quality work with limited supervision.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously.
Capable and comfortable managing shifting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
A positive approach to work, cultural awareness, security and confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to think quickly and critically.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Asana and SharePoint.
Non-profit experience.
CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist).
Ability to write and speak Spanish.

Approximate hourly range is $21.54 to $28.21, exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
