What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
• Provide instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional support services to students with disabilities
• Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Deliver academic interventions and proactive behavioral supports to enhance student learning
• Collaborate with educators and specialists to ensure effective IEP implementation across settings
• Assist students with personal hygiene and daily living activities as needed

What is Required (Qualifications):
• High school diploma or general education development (GED) program certificate
• Experience working with children with disabilities and managing externalizing behaviors
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Must earn and maintain training in crisis management and other required certifications
• Ability to relate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
• Experience in a special education or instructional assistant role
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices
• Familiarity with data collection methods for IEPs and BIPs
• Proven ability to problem-solve in stressful situations
• Training in restorative practices or academic research-based interventions
