We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Park Ranger. This position is with the National Park Service, a renowned agency dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of America’s most treasured natural and cultural resources. Job Description:
As a Part-Time Park Ranger, you will be responsible for preserving and protecting the natural resources and cultural heritage of our park. Your duties will span a broad range of tasks, including wildlife management, customer service, law enforcement, and park maintenance. Your role is vital in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all park visitors.
Responsibilities:
– Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of park visitors.
– Enforce park regulations and respond to emergencies.
– Participate in wildlife management activities.
– Assist in park maintenance, including trail repairs, building maintenance, and trash removal.
– Conduct interpretive programs for visitors about park history, geology, flora and fauna.
– Collaborate with other park staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operation of the park.
Requirements:
– Excellent communication and customer service skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Knowledge of natural resources and conservation principles.
– Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to perform strenuous tasks.
– Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours when necessary.
– Valid driver’s license.
Educational Qualifications:
– A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
– A bachelor’s degree in park management, natural resources, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
– Previous experience in park management, conservation, or a related field is highly desirable.
– Experience in customer service or law enforcement is also beneficial.
