South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Professor in Physical Education. This role is designed for part-time faculty members who are dedicated to placing student success at the center of all decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will engage with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to foster a community of learners, while also seeking opportunities for teaching and learning excellence. The position requires an embrace of change, risk-taking, and innovation, as well as a respect for the diverse cultural values, beliefs, and practices of others. Faculty members will contribute to the technical and general education of students, preparing them to apply their learning in the workforce and to transfer their education to a university setting. A firm understanding of antiracist policy development and the skills to eliminate barriers that harm underrepresented individuals is a requirement for this position. Adjunct faculty will be responsible for creating and facilitating contextualized and integrated learning experiences in Physical Education, aligned with identified college pathways linked to career goals. They will develop authentic assessments to measure students' knowledge, skills, and abilities, and apply various teaching strategies that promote the affective, cognitive, and kinesthetic domains of learning. Faculty members are expected to support students both in and out of the classroom, directing them to campus services and resources as needed. Flexibility in teaching schedules is essential, as classes may be offered on various days and times.
Responsibilities
? Create and facilitate contextualized and integrated learning experiences in Physical Education.

? Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote the affective, cognitive, and kinesthetic domains of learning.

? Support students in and out of the classroom, directing them to campus services and resources.

? Be available to teach classes on a variety of days and times.
Requirements
? P.E. Instruction or Personal Trainer experience.

? Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment.
