South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Adult Learning Instructor for non-credit courses within the Corporate and Continuing Education Program. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about adult education and committed to fostering a community of learners. Instructors are expected to place student success at the center of their decision-making processes, engaging with students, fellow instructors, staff, and administrators to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The role involves developing course activities and materials that align with the learning objectives of the Adult Learning Theory course, which includes understanding adult learning principles, creating clear learning plans, and utilizing assessments effectively. Instructors will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies that promote engagement and understanding, both in-person and online. This includes creating visual aids, conceptualizing e-learning platforms, and applying various teaching strategies that cater to different learning styles. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as instructors must be available to teach classes on various days and times. The college emphasizes the importance of cultural diversity and encourages applicants from underrepresented groups to apply, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the student population. Responsibilities
? Develop course activities and materials to meet the learning objectives of the Adult Learning Theory course.

? Understand the basics of how adults learn and identify clear objectives.

? Create clear learning plans and utilize formal and informal assessments for practice versus mastery.

? Develop formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning.

? Design and implement strategies for engagement in both in-person and online training.

? Create materials and visual aids that maximize understanding and engagement.

? Understand voice and style for e-learning modules and conceptualize online e-learning platforms.

? Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote the affective, cognitive, and kinesthetic domains of learning.

? Be available to teach classes on a variety of days and times.
Requirements
? Current knowledge of research-based Adult Learning Theories.
,
? Experience and ability to teach others how to deliver and develop instruction for in-person, online, and on-demand courses.

? Evidence of teaching experience or potential.
,
? Commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
