The Delaware Area Career Center is seeking a dedicated Aspire/GED Adult Education Teacher to join our team in Westerville. This part-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about adult education and committed to helping students achieve their educational and career goals. The primary responsibility of the Adult Education Teacher is to plan and develop student skills that qualify them for entry-level employment. This involves engaging with students to help them identify their goals and make informed choices about their education and career paths. The teacher will foster a cooperative learning environment, utilizing active listening, timely feedback, and high expectations to respect the diverse talents and learning styles of all students. In this role, the Adult Education Teacher will implement best teaching practices tailored to the needs of adult learners. This includes setting quantifiable learning outcomes, holding students accountable for their progress, and providing technical and trade pathways for students. The teacher will also be responsible for evaluating student progress, preparing necessary reports, and assisting students in job placement once they are deemed ready. Continuous self-improvement and professional development are essential, as the teacher will stay current with vocational and trade updates relevant to their subjects. The classroom environment will be engaging and appropriate for adult learners, with a focus on job-seeking and retention skills. The teacher will create a climate of openness and mutual respect, promoting cooperation among students and engaging them in complex problem-solving activities. The role requires a commitment to student safety and adherence to applicable laws and district policies, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities

Requirements
? Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.

? Valid Ohio Teacher's License or Adult Education Permit.

? Experience working with adult learners.

? Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

? Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies related to adult education.
Nice-to-haves
