Insurance Verification Specialist

Arsenault Dermatology is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team.
The Insurance Verification Specialist plays a crucial role in contributing to the Practice?s goal of verifying all patient insurances prior to upcoming scheduled appointments. Working across multiple patient projects simultaneously, the specialist assists patients and office staff with various account details, including verification of payer participation status, eligibility and benefits verification, claim investigation, patient statements, outstanding balances, Pre-Collection delinquency, and collaboration with third-party Collection Agencies. Immediate assistance is provided in billing and revenue cycle management to Arsenault Dermatology providers and team members as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and payer participation status for all patients at least 7 days prior to scheduled appointments
- Determine patient out of pocket responsibility for upcoming surgical appointments
- Identify policy limitations and exclusions for Dermatology specific services
- Initiate PCP referrals and authorizations for specific services
- Communicate with outside Physician offices in a professional manner
- Contact patients to update demographic and insurance information
- Review eligibility response to update copay, co-insurance, and deductible information appropriately.
- Cross-trained for all Billing positions for enhanced knowledge of job assignments
- Work on multiple patient projects simultaneously.

- Provide immediate assistance in billing and revenue cycle management to Arsenault Dermatology providers and team members.
- Build strong working relationships with patients and payers to maintain Arsenault Dermatology's reputation for exceptional service.
- Produce work with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Consistently communicate in a positive manner through the usage of excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain high daily production standards.
The employee must have:
- Excellent customer service skills to meet the highest standards of Arsenault Dermatology.
- Ability to communicate financial matters with a professional speaking tone.
- Extensive working knowledge of insurance verification, billing, and collections of Dermatology provider claims.
- Intimate working knowledge of Medicare and major private insurance carriers' payment regulations, reimbursement requirements, coinsurance, deductibles, and contractual adjustments.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
- Complete understanding of professional fee billing processes and procedures.
- Responsibility for lawful release of medical documentation to third-party payers when necessary.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency, including Modernizing Medicine (EMA) and Trizetto software platforms.
- Knowledge of navigating through Medicare and Commercial payer portals, including Availity, Optum, First Coast Service Options (SPOT), and more.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
