NLC Mutual serves state municipal league risk pools throughout the United States with a focus on reinsurance, risk financing, and risk management needs.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Insurance Underwriting Assistant plays a vital role in providing administrative and technical support to the underwriting team, including drafting and editing policy documents, data input into company systems, and communications to policy holders. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a self-starter and be able to work independently as this is a remote position. They will have strong organizational and time management skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Conducts day-to-day input and upload of data into internal data management system, as well as compiling data reports.
? Creates, updates, and maintains underwriting files, which includes compiling information from multiple sources for use internally and with external stakeholders.
? Manages and maintains the annual underwriting schedule, including communication to critical stakeholders to ensure business is concluded on time.
? With direction, assembles, formats, and proofreads reinsurance contracts.
? Conducts outreach to clients and communicates regularly with internal staff to accomplish projects and tasks in a timely manner.
? Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
? Minimum 3 to 5 years experience working in the insurance industry and familiar with insurance processes. (reinsurance preferred); or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
? Proficiency with Microsoft suite ? with particular emphasis on Excel and Word ? and comfort utilizing data management software.
? Ability to review and analyze contracts for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with underwriting guidelines.
? Strong capability to manage multiple documents, contracts, and tasks simultaneously.
? Should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to interact professionally with internal team and work in a digital environment with full-time remote colleagues.

WORK LOCATION

This is a remote position.

SALARY RANGE

$65,000 - $80,000 (Commensurate with experience)
