About the position

The Title Abstractor/Court Researcher position involves conducting public records research, specifically focusing on title abstracting, which includes analyzing chains of title, deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, plats, assessment data, tax data, court documents, and other public record information. This role requires proficiency in utilizing computer data indexes, online searches, and on-site database searches to gather necessary information. The researcher will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring the quality of all abstracted information, verifying that it meets the standards set by the company and its clients. This process will involve extensive desktop searching through various online county sources and external databases. In addition to research duties, the position may require some typing, data entry, and the submission of reports based on search results. The researcher will also be responsible for scanning, uploading, faxing, emailing, transmitting invoices, and completing order transactions. This role can be performed remotely from a home office or in the field, but it is essential to maintain constant communication with the main office located in St. Louis. The position is mobile, requiring travel to multiple counties in central Arkansas, particularly focusing on Pulaski County, which may involve visiting various Recorder of Deeds, courthouses, and government agencies within a 50+ mile radius. Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License, as this is a mobile position. Prior experience in title abstracting, mortgage processing, or related fields is strongly recommended. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate superior time management and organizational skills, and possess excellent computer skills. Strong communication skills and a solid work ethic are also essential for success in this role. A company vehicle will be provided, along with mileage reimbursement for any work performed at onsite county locations. If the position transitions to full-time, a full benefits package will be available, including 401(k), dental, life insurance, and health savings account (HSA) options.
