The US Oncology Network is looking for a New Patient Coordinator Lead to join our team at Texas Oncology. This full-time remote position will support our Gulf Coast Regional Office at 10101 Woodloch Forest. Typical works hours are Monday - Friday; 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Candidate must be a Texas resident.

What does the Surgery New Patient Coordinator Lead do?

Under minimal supervision, responsible for new patient coordination activities that may include account and insurance registration and scheduling of new patients for exams and procedures. Maintains patient records, prepares forms, verifies information, and resolves routine and non-routine problems. Assists in providing staff training and onboarding instruction. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology?s Shared Values.
Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ? Assists in overseeing the operations for New Patient Coordinator activities, as directed by the Supervisor, New Patient Intake. ? Assists in providing staff training and onboarding instruction. ? Leads assessment of, and solutions to, barriers to care, engaging patients, families, team members, referring providers as appropriate. ? Advises New Patient Coordinators on the resolution to non-routine & complex issues. ? Able to effectively oversee and manage the continuum of the new patient referral process within department standards and productivity rates. ? Provides strong customer service to patients and internal and external stakeholders as the clinic?s first point of contact. ? Independently assesses patient needs to prioritize and triage referrals. ? Answers phone calls, takes messages and responds to routine patient, physician, and client inquiries. ? Proactively follows-up on missing medical records and test results from referring providers. ? Obtains patient demographic, insurance, referral, and other pre-visit required information. ? Verifies and registers patient accounts in the practice management system. ? Facilitates patients? insurance benefit and eligibility investigations. ? Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions to patients. ? Distributes appropriate medical forms to the patient for completion prior to initial visit. ? Maintains and updates physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled appropriately. ? Works in conjunction with the clinical team to accommodate urgent scheduling requests. ? Accurately documents/updates patient record in designated systems to ensure all parties have accurate information. ? Provides support and information to providers to problem solve and manage complex administrative issues. ? Proactively identifies process and procedure gaps?
