Summary: Procurement Specialists are responsible for finding and obtaining the products, services, and supplies
needed for the company to operate. Procurement Specialists are assigned responsibility for one or more
categories of purchases and are responsible for establishing strategies to achieve cost, quality, customer service,
and efficiency targets for each category.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ? Strategic Management: Implement strategic procurement, including sourcing strategy, vendor selection and
evaluation, quality management, and performance measurement.
? Research: Evaluate and compare products and services to determine which best meet the organization's
needs
? Negotiating: Secure the best pricing, terms, and delivery options, and execute vendor agreements.
? Project Management: Ensure timely preparation of procurement plans for development and expansion
projects; lead cross-functional teams to make good purchasing decisions for a particular project, facility, or
for the organization as a whole. .
? Inventory Control and Efficiency: Maintain accuracy of purchasing and inventory systems and records.
Establish key performance indicators within each category: Provide visibility to spend and utilization through
inventory and purchasing reports.
? Relationships: Establish positive and professional relationships with vendors; serve as primary point of
contact for vendors within each category.
? Maintaining: Maintaining quality standards, compliance standards, and accurate records
? Risk management: Reduce risk through accurate forecasting and understanding of necessary lead times.
? Researching: Conducting market research to learn about industry trends and current products
? Tracking: Generate purchase orders; tracking and tracing orders through the delivery process
? Collaborating: Collaborating with vendors and internal departments to ensure that all requests are fulfilled to
satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
Education, Licensure, & Experience
? Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or associated field
preferred. Five Years of procurement experience may be considered in place of a bachelor's degree.
? At least two years of purchasing / procurement responsibilities required.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is
regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee
is seldom required walk, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must seldom lift and/ or move up to 10
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will rarely require local
travel. This position is a part of Pyramid's remote workforce and will occasionally require travel to facilities or team
meetings.
