Your Role
The Applications Support and Continuous Delivery team charter and role for this position is to advance platform and application solution design disciplines where the end goal is to build and establish platform engineering disciplines and best practices to effectively build and evangelize designs which utilize EA reference implementations and patterned solutions for asset reuse developing new or optimizing existing platforms (i.e., Pega, AIP, Facets, PIMS).
The Platform / IT Applications Solutions Engineer, Principal will report to the Sr. Manager
In this role as a technical leader, you thrive best in creating impact by exercising your technical leadership and capabilities, influence, having access and partnership with EA, Infrastructure and Development/ Support partners across the enterprise to enable building of Business/IT service solutions with common platform standards and in interpreting, for development teams, how to correctly build against EA?s proposed designs.
The principal will have independent yet partnered influence, authority our application and platform solution teams putting together the appropriate blueprints into how platforms should operate as we ?productize? platforms for use by agile product delivery teams. Key qualities include platform systems evaluation, having strategic thought observing anti-patterns, and identifying needs that support platform demands for the service development community, continually striving for engineering excellence that enables portfolios to deliver backlog in a faster and standardized manner.
Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
? Own, manage and execute platform management practice for key foundational IT platforms.
? Partner with enterprise architecture to define platform solution patterns. Ensure these solutions practices are understood and adopted by various IT dev delivery teams (agile development teams)
? Lead partners of developers, security, data service teams providing reference implementations for various solutions patterns in IT platforms.
? Train various development teams with platform adoption / usage and best practices through platform solution patterns and reference implementation
? Partner with enterprise architecture team to understand enterprise technology roadmap and ensure the solution architecture/design created by IT Portfolio teams reflect them.
? Provide leadership, mentorship and advisory services to IT portfolio and product(agile) teams to ensure that solutions are in line with the strategic architecture direction.
? Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
? Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives.
? Provide technical leadership in establishing a platform community of practice with various stakeholders.
? Effectively communicate approach, value, risk, alternatives, and status of goal progress with executive & senior management, business sponsors, and product managers
? Self-directed, works with limited management direction and exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment
? Applies significant knowledge of IT and healthcare industry trends
? Manage the identification and resolution of technical debt
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
? Requires a computer science bachelor's degree or having technical equivalent experience
? Requires at least 10 years of prior and relevant experience
? Strong technical acumen & deep working knowledge of Agile Methods, Service Architecture, and enterprise cloud integration and solution designing

? Valuable+ Experience: Git (Bitbucket), Jira, Jenkins, Tableau, Splunk, Business
? Objects, Service Market Place, Python, Facets (Claims), Tidal, Informatica, Oracle, SQL, Unix, other scripting
? Strong ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams
? Ability to assess potential opportunities, risks, and issues, and make recommendations to resolve or course-correct as necessary
? Ability to effectively manage meetings and work regularly with a variety of stakeholders
? Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to create, translate, and execute technical deliverables
? Proven experience educating & influencing others and collaborating across all functions and levels in a highly matrixed organization
? Healthcare experience in claims processing & payments is preferred (Facets, FHIR)
? Experienced with relevant software development tools, industry protocols, troubleshooting & support procedures, monitoring & quality controls, and communication/documentation software
Pay Range
The pay range for this role is: $ 145970.00 to $ 218900.00 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
