Position Summary

The Eligibility Verification Specialist will oversee the Eligibility process for new patients referred for treatment with BHS. These duties include:
? Validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer system
? Verify insurance eligibility for services provided and document complete information in the system
? Performing prior authorizations as required by payor source, including procurement of needed documentation by collaborating with physician offices and insurance companies
? Contacting all insurance carriers per patient, to ensure proper coordination and reimbursement of benefits
? Other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements
? Experience in healthcare / medical settings
? Experience with billing preferred
? Highly organized and attentive to detail
? Experience with eligibility verification (Medicaid/Medicare and other insurance portals)
? Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
? Proficient in MS-Excel
? Ability to work independently
