About the position

The Front-End Pharmacy Technician position at Walgreens is a fully remote role that requires the candidate to reside in Arizona. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth processing of new prescriptions for patients, which includes entering patient demographics and prescription information into the data processing system. The technician will also be responsible for processing exceptions, making contact with physician offices and patients, and assisting in back-end efforts such as picking, packing, and manifesting based on business needs. In this role, the technician will provide pharmacist callback and patient quality assurance support, ensuring that all patient interactions meet the high standards set by Walgreens. The responsibilities extend to handling new patient referrals, loading insurance plans, and coordinating benefits into the data processing system. The technician will participate in the review and audit of test claims for new patients and referrals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy regulations. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for image indexing, filing AE reports, and providing primary support for specialized programs such as ETT or Pharma. This role requires a certified and/or licensed pharmacy technician, as dictated by state requirements, and involves performing job responsibilities that may require special handling or support for specific disease states. Responsibilities
? Provides pharmacist call back and/or patient quality assurance support.

? Responsible for entering patient demographics and prescription into the data processing system.

? Works with new patient/new referral imaging folder.

? Loads insurance plan and coordination of benefits into the data processing system for new patient/new referrals.

? Participates in the review/audit of test claims for new patient/new referral.

? Handles processing of reorders and emails distribution as needed.

? Responsible for image indexing, AE report filing.
,
? Provides primary support and expertise for specialized programs such as ETT or Pharma.

? Performs the job responsibilities listed for programs that require special handling or provide support for specific disease states.

? Other registered and/or licensed responsibilities as judgement or necessity dictate.

Requirements
? High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED.
,
? Must have an active pharmacy technician license or certification as required by state Board of Pharmacy.

? 1 year of work experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, PBM and/or call center settings.
,
? Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

? Basic knowledge of and skills using MS Windows, MS Office Suite and/or similar operating/software programs.
