The experienced Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by assisting in the preparation, examination, and treatment of patients. This position is critical within our Health Centers, where the MA will also be cross-trained for back-office duties to provide coverage as needed. In this role, the MA will greet and check in patients, verifying their coverage and eligibility while completing necessary paperwork. Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, taking vital signs, and assisting with care coordination. The MA will administer medications, prepare examination rooms, and ensure that instruments are cleaned and sterilized according to established protocols. Additionally, the MA will handle phone calls in compliance with departmental procedures, schedule appointments, and review preprinted instruction sheets with patients. Participation in department staff meetings and in-service programs is expected, along with cross-training in new procedures and departments. The MA will also assist in orienting new employees and temporary staff to their job responsibilities. Responsibilities
? Greet and check in patients by verifying coverage and eligibility and completing appropriate paperwork.

Requirements
? Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.

? Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

? At least 1 year of front and back office experience in a healthcare setting.

? Experience in answering phones and scheduling patients effectively.

? Phlebotomy skills are required.

? Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

? Excellent customer service skills are essential.
