This position develops and maintains the NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium (NCCN Compendium) and reviews integration of content from the NCCN Compendium into clinical decision support (CDS) and other related informatics tools. This position also assists with review and maintenance of the NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates (NCCN Templates). This position requires minimal overnight travel.
Requirements
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Attend in-person panel meetings and teleconferences for the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines) and collaborate with NCCN guidelines coordinators and oncology scientists to review draft algorithms and identify changes in the recommended uses of drugs and biologics that impact the NCCN Compendium and NCCN Templates. ? Draft new or update existing compendium entries to reflect changes in the NCCN Guidelines and NCCN Templates; keep accurate and transparent records of all edits and changes to NCCN Compendium. ? Develop and maintain a record of agents that are no longer recommended in the NCCN Guidelines for each compendium chapter. ? Review FDA indications and update compendium to reflect any changes in agent labels. ? Review new and updated NCCN Templates based on recommendations for systemic therapy found within the NCCN Guidelines and clinical references. ? Learn and use custom software system designed for template publication and maintenance; keep accurate and transparent records of all edits and changes to NCCN Templates. ? Collaborate with the Drugs & Biologics team nurses, the multidisciplinary NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates Committee, and NCCN panel physicians to review NCCN Templates content. ? Collaborate with NCCN licensees to complete quality assurance checks (QA) and ensure accurate representation of NCCN Compendium content in 3rd party electronic information systems. ? Collaborate with IT staff for the development, testing, and implementation of database improvements to the NCCN Compendium and NCCN Templates to ensure accurate retrieval of data in electronic systems. ? Respond to patient and professional inquiries, permissions reviews, and JNCCN drug spotlight article review requests related to the NCCN Compendium. ? Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:
? RPh or Pharm
D with 5+ years of clinical oncology experience or equivalent work experience.
? Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) strongly preferred.
? PGY2 oncology specialty residency desirable.
? Extensive expertise in and experience with oncology systemic therapies.
? Experience in scientific/medical writing preferred.
? Previous participation in an implementation team for chemotherapy orders in electronic systems preferred.
? Project management or oncology health information systems experience desirable.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? Ability to evaluate guideline recommendations and translate into comprehensive written compendium and chemotherapy order template formats.
? Ability to evaluate clinical research.
? Proficient in MS Office products and comfortable working in or learning database systems.
? Excellent writing skills and the ability to formulate medical information in a clear and concise manner.
? Strong attention to detail.
? Ability to maintain and prioritize multiple projects.
? Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively and collaborate respectfully with internal and external personnel at various levels.
? Ability to understand implications of the NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium and NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates for utilization and coverage policy.
