(Remote) Manager, Finance, Accounting + Administration

The Manager, Finance, Accounting + Administration is responsible for LCRF?s day-to-day accounting functions, partnering closely with the Sr. Director, Finance and Administration to review, assess, record, and reconcile receipts, disbursements, and general ledger activity. This position will assist with monthly and year-end close, supporting financial statement preparation, annual audit, and 990 filing. This role requires a servant leader approach to provide accurate and timely reports to LCRF?s department leaders. The position is fully remote and reports to the Sr. Director, Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities
? Leading Role: Finance + Accounting
? Accounting: Manage and oversee LCRF?s daily accounting functions in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
? Journal Entries: Prepare and record monthly journal entries and pledges
? Accounting Reconciliations: Prepare monthly reconciliations including bank reconciliations, general ledger to donor database and grant management system
? Month-end + Year-end Close: Assist with the month-end close and Annual Audit process, and review and record year-end entries and reconciliations, as directed.
? Cash Receipts: Manage all aspects of LCRF?s daily deposits including oversight of LCRF?s lockbox deposits and virtual mailbox, and recording deposits in accounting system
? Gift Coding: Ensure proper documentation and coding of deposits and donor gifts and prepare and distribute a Daily Deposit Log (DDL)
? Accounts Payable: Serve as the primary contact for processing and paying invoices including but not limited to vendor management, reviewing and coding invoices and reimbursement requests, verifying transaction coding and approvals, processing, recording, and reconciling disbursements
? Vendor Relationships: Maintain vendor relationships by responding to inquiries and/or payment related issues; develop and maintain vendor files
? Credit Cards: Manage monthly credit card expense reporting and recording; review and verify accuracy of employee expense reports, approvals, and coding; reconcile to monthly statement, and import into accounting system
? Tax Forms: Prepare IRS Forms 1099 and 1096, annually
? Record Keeping: Maintain organized filing system for all permanent files, vendor W-9s, charitable registrations, and legal documentation
? Reporting: Assist the Sr. Director of Finance to create periodic department budgets and reports, financial statements and all other necessary reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Supporting Role: Administration
? Grants Administration: Partner with Research team to manage LCRF?s research funding awards utilizing Proposal Central to record, track, report and disburse funds accordingly
? Software Implementation: Coordinate and facilitate the implementation and training of any financial software or features with appropriate staff and vendors
? Payroll: Support Human Resources with payroll and 401k reconciliations, as needed
? Dept. Support: Maintain Finance and Audit calendar including important activities, meetings, and deadlines.
? Other special projects, duties, and miscellaneous assignments, as directed
Qualifications required
? Bachelor?s degree and 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field; or a combination of education and directly related experience in a non-profit organization; experience with a grant-making organization is highly desired
? Proven success in progressive accounting and finance roles, especially data entry, account reconciliation, research, and analysis
? Experience using QuickBooks, Blackbaud?s Financial Edge, or similar accounting software is highly desired
? Experience using other tools and processes such as SAP Concur, Bill.com and SaaS Ant is highly desired
? Proficient using MS Office, with a moderate level of expertise using Excel
