We are seeking a Senior Home Loans Underwriter for the Home Loans Production Department.

The role of the Senior Home Loans Underwriter is to analyze, assess and decision mortgage loan applications for Credit Human Home Loans in accordance with Credit Human lending guidelines, secondary market guidelines, FHA, VA, and Rural Housing requirements, as well as state and federal regulations. The incumbent must stay abreast of internal lending policies, practices, guidelines, lending systems and products, as well as external regulatory and economic environments.

The role is responsible for the review of all loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal, regulatory, mortgage insurance and investor guidelines in order to render loan decisions in a timely, accurate manner. Incumbent must develop sound working relationships with the Home Loans Production team to ensure accurate and timely decisions are made and communicated effectively to support a quality member service experience.

Highlights:
? Underwrite files within our Service Level Agreement and act as the subject matter expert in the area of determining credit and collateral risk
? Support and assist the Portfolio Manager in ensuring established performance and customer service goals are met
? Take responsibility for problem resolution of non-routine underwriting issues; review exceptions from policy, guidelines, and procedures to render appropriate decisions within prescribed limits
? Support Home Loans Leadership in development and implementation of new processes and procedures that increase department efficiency
? Continually enhance product knowledge with respect to credit union, mortgage insurance, and secondary market guidelines through regular attendance of internal and external educational learning seminars and webinars

Experience:

Required
? Minimum 7 years of experience in the mortgage industry

Preferred
? Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience including conventional underwriting
? VA underwriting experience
? FHA underwriting experience including DE CHUMS

Education:

Required
? High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred
? Bachelor?s degree in business or related field

Licenses & Certifications:

Required
? Requires eligibility to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry

Preferred
? NMLS registered
? VA Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP) approved

Skills & Knowledge:

Required
? Knowledge of credit and collateral underwriting guidelines, rules and regulations governed by state and federal agencies
? Knowledgeable in real estate underwriting principles to include secondary marketing automated underwriting engines
? In-depth knowledge of Fannie Mae Guidelines, DU? guidelines and risk assessment tools used to decision mortgage loans
? Ability to effectively communicate credit decisions
? Ability to use sound judgment and possess strong decision-making skills
? Strong analytical, problem solving and audit skills
? Strong organizational skills and results orientation

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm

Flexibility: On site, in office; Not remote or hybrid
