Frey Computing Services Building Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: The purpose of the ERP Analyst is to work with end users, product owners, developers and business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business, functional or reporting requirements, and business processes. Prepares and/or maintains detailed documentation pertaining to configurations, systems operations, and requirements. Achieves and maintains subject matter expertise relevant to the functional areas of Financial Aid, included but not limited to, Attendance Plans, ISIR processing, Cost of Attendance, Packaging, Award Disbursement, etc within Workday Student. Works with product teams and product managers to implement changes and enhancements to applications. An ERP Analyst 2 will be required to perform additional duties with more autonomy and less required supervision and consultation with superiors. Examples include being assigned as lead analyst on various projects, enhancement initiatives, and software implementations and representing the department with software vendors. An ERP Analyst 2 will also be expected to provide more consulting services to business users, leveraging advanced critical thinking skills. An ERP Analyst 3 will be required to perform additional duties with more autonomy and less required supervision and consultation with superiors than an ERP Analyst 2. Will be expected to be experts in their respective functional areas and provide consulting services to business users with minimal to no management direct oversight. Additional examples include serving as technical lead on various projects, creating and maintaining module roadmaps and assuming responsibility that priorities are established and executed, becoming an expert on Workday Reporting and learning SAS Enterprise Guide for advanced reporting needs, assuming responsibility of manual and automated testing efforts for assigned functional areas, and mentoring junior analysts in Workday business process, reporting, and security configuration. Job Responsibilities Analyst 1: Support: Knowledge of business processes and technologies for assigned product line. Works with product owners, product teams, and other ITS teams to troubleshoot, analyze, gather requirements, and propose resolutions. Communicates potential impact of solutions. Executes solutions. Tests independently and in collaboration with product owners. (30%) Consulting/Enhancing: Works with product owners, product teams, product managers, and vendors to understand business needs and vendor product roadmaps. Documents requirements into functional and technical specifications using a variety of business analytic techniques. Recommends solutions to product owners. Works with product team to implement and test enhancements based on University product roadmap priorities. Coordinates with other ITS teams to implement solutions and to communicate solutions to appropriate parties. (25%) Reporting: Works with product team and product owners to define and document reporting needs and creates reports within applications and/or external reporting systems. Coordinates with other ITS teams to implement solutions and to communicate solutions to appropriate parties. (20%) Testing: Uses automated testing tool when available Maintains and enhances testing scripts, executes on schedule, troubleshoots results, and works with product line to recommend enhancements to business processes. Works with product team to implement and test enhancements based on University product roadmap priorities. Will be expected to manage some enhancements from beginning to end with less need for supervisor consultation. Will be assigned as primary departmental representative on software solution implementations. (30%) Reporting: Works with product team and product owners to define and document reporting needs and creates reports within applications and/or external reporting systems. Coordinates with other ITS teams to implement solutions and to communicate solutions to appropriate parties. Will be responsible for seeking out opportunities to enhance business processes or solve problems through reporting solutions, thus acquiring an advanced report-developing skill set. (15%) Testing: Uses automated testing tool when available Maintains and enhances testing scripts, executes on schedule, troubleshoots results, and works with product line to recommend enhancements to business processes. Will be responsible for working directly with software vendor of testing tool to solve problems and convey needs of the department. (15%) Other duties as assigned. Works with product owners, product teams, and other ITS teams to troubleshoot, analyze, gather requirements, and propose resolutions. Communicates potential impact of solutions. Executes solutions. Tests independently and in collaboration with product owners. Will be expected to work autonomously with other ITS teams, often requiring little to no advisement from supervisor. (30%) Consulting/Enhancing: Works with product owners, product teams, product managers, and vendors to understand business needs and vendor product roadmaps. Documents requirements into functional and technical specifications using a variety of business analytic techniques. Recommends solutions to product owners. Creates and maintains module roadmaps and ensures that priorities are established and executed. Will be expected to manage some enhancements from beginning to end with little to no supervisor consultation. Will be assigned as technical lead on software solution implementations. (30%) Reporting: Works with product team and product owners to define and document reporting needs, recommends reporting solutions that solve business problems and enhance efficiencies, and creates reports within applications and/or external reporting systems. Must achieve expert level of knowledge on Workday reporting. Utilizes other reporting tools such as SAS Enterprise guide for advanced, multi-source reporting. Will be responsible for seeking out opportunities to enhance business processes or solve problems through reporting solutions, thus acquiring an advanced report-developing skill set. (30%) Testing: Responsible for overseeing manual and automated for assigned functional areas. Maintains and enhances testing scripts, executes on schedule, troubleshoots results, and works with product line to recommend enhancements to business processes. Will be responsible for working directly with software vendor of testing tool to solve problems and convey needs of the department. Responsible for training junior analysts on testing techniques, processes, and automated testing tools. (15%) Other duties as assigned. (10%) Minimum Qualifications: Analyst 1- Bachelor's degree in a technology or business related field. Analyst 2- Bachelor's degree in a technology or business related field. 1 year of related experience. Analyst 3- Bachelor's degree in a technology or business related field. 2 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Analyst 1- Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related. Experience with Workday ERP, specifically in the Financial Aid module of Workday Student.. Experience in Higher Education student processes.
