The Consumer Services Coordinator-Intake is responsible for coordinating the intake process for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the North Los Angeles County Regional Center. This role involves understanding eligibility guidelines, conducting assessments, and providing advocacy and resource referral information to applicants and their families. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
? Understand Lanterman Act eligibility guidelines and clinical diagnostic assessments.

? Complete work within state mandated and departmental eligibility timelines.

? Schedule and complete initial Social Assessments.
,
? Coordinate clinical reviews and information gathering to establish eligibility.
,
? Gather and share information with other resource agencies.
,
? Review and interpret available records, assessments, and IEPs.
,
? Conduct comprehensive reviews of applicants' case histories and records.
,
? Participate in Inter-disciplinary Eligibility Determination staffings.
,
? Provide advocacy and resource referral information to applicants and families.
,
? Explain Lanterman Act guidelines for eligibility determinations.
,
? Notify applicants and complete Notice of Action letters for those determined not eligible.

? Maintain case records with SANDIS ID noted case activity and status changes.
Requirements
? Bilingual in Spanish and English.
,
? Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related human services field.
,
? At least two years of related experience; a Master's degree may substitute for experience.

? Understanding of family systems and person-centered planning.
,
? Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
,
? Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
,
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

? Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
