Job description: The Local Markets Medical Economics Lead Analyst will be responsible for overseeing local affordability analytics for the highly complex and regulated Medicare Advantage business, a key pillar of our enterprise growth strategy (public commitment on growing 10%-15% annually for the next 5yrs). The analyst will partner with Southeast Market Presidents, Medical Executives, Network Operations, Finance and other matrix partners to identify trends in medical cost and utilization and develop recommendations for affordability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, display intellectual curiosity, be result-oriented and enjoy working with large data sets.

Responsibilities
? Proactively identify opportunities for trend reduction by analyzing various different claims and enrollment databases
? Quantify and analyze cost and utilization metrics to identify emerging local market trends and make appropriate recommendations
? Develop actionable insights from analytics to present to non-technical business partners and stakeholders to drive the decision-making process
? Create presentations for senior leaders to showcase analytics in a consumable method using overview, major takeaways, major questions, and next steps
? Report findings through routine readouts to key stakeholders and analytic partners in LMAC (local market affordability committee) meetings
? Develop strong partnerships across a highly matrixed, cross functional teams to drive outcomes
? Simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple assignments, working independently and with other teams
? Document processes and procedures for team and stakeholder utilization
Qualifications
? Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Analytics, Computer Science or related fields
? 3+ years of experience in Financial Analysis, Business Analytics, Data Science or related area strongly preferred
? Prior Medicare Advantage experience and familiarity with Medicare payment methodologies strongly preferred
? SQL experience required, must have knowledge of relational databases
? Ability to communicate with Senior Leaders, on both technical and non-technical aspects of the business, and serve as a trusted advisor
? Ability to respond to business organizational changes, ambiguity and complexity.
? Ability to navigate formal and informal channels to connect the dots.
? Ability to make key decisions to influence current and future results.
This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 87,200 - 145,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
