The Reading Clinic Secretary is a part-time position that serves as a support for the Rowan University Reading Clinic, which provides essential tutoring services to K-12 students both face-to-face and online. This role is crucial in facilitating the clinical experiences required for Rowan students who are pursuing certification as a Teacher of Reading or Reading Specialist. The secretary will be the first point of contact for the clinic, managing communications and ensuring smooth operations throughout the tutoring sessions. In this role, the secretary will be responsible for monitoring online registrations and maintaining electronic files for students receiving tutoring during the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. They will collaborate with the clinic coordinator to create a clinic calendar and assist in promoting the clinic through various channels, including social media, flyers, and posters. Additionally, the secretary will handle payment processing for tutoring services and communicate with families regarding clinic schedules and procedures, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise. The position also involves gathering testing materials necessary for assessing children in the clinic and scheduling initial evaluations as needed. The secretary will work closely with the clinic coordinator and instructors to schedule tutoring sessions and manage the systems for clinic materials, including computers and educational publications. They will monitor attendance issues and potential operational problems, particularly concerning technology and materials used in the clinic. Finally, the secretary will collect final reports from tutors, create electronic copies, and send these to families, as well as create and mail certificates for children who complete their tutoring. Surveys and other materials will also be sent to families to help assess and improve clinic operations.
Responsibilities
? Serve as first-line contact and answer phone calls and emails.

? Monitor online registration and create and maintain electronic files with required forms for students who are tutored in the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.

? Create clinic calendar in cooperation with the clinic coordinator and assist in promoting the clinic in various ways, including social media, fliers, and posters.

? Monitor and process payments for tutoring.

? Communicate with families regarding clinic schedules and procedures, and answer questions as they arise.

? Gather all testing materials needed for assessment of children in the clinic, and schedule initial evaluations as needed.

? Work with clinic coordinator and instructors to schedule tutoring.

? Communicate with families regarding any issues involving attendance.

? In cooperation with clinic coordinator and instructors, monitor potential problems with clinic operations, including use of technology and other materials.

Requirements
? Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

? Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
