The Chart Retrieval Specialist II at Optum plays a crucial role in improving health outcomes by retrieving medical records from various healthcare facilities on behalf of health plans and other clients. This position not only involves the core responsibilities of a Chart Retrieval Specialist but also includes coaching, training, and developing the workforce across multiple regions. The role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work any of the 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasionally, overtime may be necessary based on business needs. The position offers 4 weeks of paid training, with training hours set from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The primary responsibilities include retrieving both paper and electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and developing strong relationships with healthcare providers to facilitate the retrieval process. The specialist will also review medical records for completeness and accuracy, utilize electronic health record systems, and may need to travel to various locations, including out-of-town travel as needed. Additionally, the role involves providing on-site and remote support, administering Level 1 field support, monitoring field activity, and ensuring the highest quality of work through guidance and training of Chart Retrieval Specialists across multiple regions. The Chart Retrieval Specialist II will maintain a detailed tracking system for medical record retrieval requests, communicate with internal teams and external clients regarding the status of these requests, and participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The position requires a strong ability to work with PHI/PII data and perform quality assurance assessments. The specialist will also identify growth opportunities for the company and may be assigned other duties, including supporting other departments, while maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

Requirements
? High School diploma or GED required.
,
? Must be 18 years of age or older.
,
? 1+ years in medical record retrieval or health information management experience.

? 1+ years' experience working in electronic health record systems.

? Experience reviewing medical records.
,
? Ability to travel up to 95%, primarily local during business hours, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel.

? Reside within a commutable distance from Newark, New Jersey.

? Ability to work 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
