Posted 2025-03-14The Climb is currently looking to expand our Board of Directors with individuals who bring expertise in communications, marketing, fundraising, or legal advising. These skills are vital to helping us strengthen our organization and achieve our vision of increasing the representation of women of color in leadership positions. Responsibilities
Board members serve a two-year term, contributing 5-10 hours per month to provide strategic leadership, guide The Climb?s mission, and support organizational growth. They play an active role in leading or participating in committees, fundraising, and expanding outreach efforts to increase awareness and engagement. Board members leverage their networks to secure funding, partnerships, and sponsorships while also ensuring financial oversight and nonprofit governance. Additionally, they support key initiatives such as member recruitment, mentorship, and program development, helping to create opportunities that empower women of color in their career journeys.
Qualifications
? Passion for The Climb?s mission to increase the representation of women of color in leadership roles
? Expertise in communications, marketing, fundraising, or legal advising
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Experience in nonprofit governance, strategic planning, or board service (preferred but not required)
? Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals
? Prior experience in public relations, branding, grant writing, or corporate partnerships is a plus
? Commitment to contributing 5-10 hours per month to board activities, including meetings, committee work, and organizational initiatives
