About the position

The Health Educator 4 position at UC Davis Health is a critical role within the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) in the Department of Public Health Sciences. This position is designed to support the mission of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) by providing subject matter expertise, leadership, coordination, and project management aimed at promoting the health and well-being of refugee populations and other eligible groups. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders, including federal and state partners, local health jurisdictions, and community organizations, to ensure that new refugee arrivals throughout California have access to necessary healthcare services and health promotion resources. The Health Educator will be responsible for the most complex and technical administrative responses to support the Office of Refugee Health (ORH). This includes coordinating healthcare services and implementing health promotion strategies to reduce health disparities and improve health equity for vulnerable populations. The role requires a strong understanding of health program administration, policy analysis, and the ability to make recommendations to management based on program evaluations. The Health Educator will also serve as a liaison to resettlement agencies and will coordinate referrals to ensure that eligible populations receive the healthcare services they need. In addition to these responsibilities, the Health Educator will engage in collaborative partnerships to enhance healthcare access and will be involved in outreach efforts to educate and inform communities about available health resources.
