The Senior Accountant position at Ascension Investment Management (AIM) is a critical role that involves comprehensive accounting and administration for the Ascension Alpha Fund, LLC and other investment management programs. This position is designed for an individual who is detail-oriented and possesses a strong background in financial investment accounting. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Director of Investment Operations and will work closely with the Manager of Investment Operations, Senior Director of Investment Operations, Health Ministries, and Financial Reporting teams. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple investment portfolios, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of financial data. In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the detailed accounting processes, including the accelerated monthly close process, preparation, and distribution of monthly earnings allocations, and all internal and external reporting requirements. This includes daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. The position also involves reconciling monthly reports, maintaining general ledgers, and ensuring detailed recordkeeping systems are in place. The Senior Accountant will serve as the first-line contact for Health Ministries regarding intercompany accounting and banking reconciliations, which requires strong communication and collaboration skills. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will prepare audit supporting schedules, manage confirmation requests, and resolve any discrepancies. This includes preparing financial statements and footnotes in compliance with relevant accounting standards. The role also requires liaising with custodial banks and administrators, implementing new accounting practices, and monitoring asset allocations for all portfolios. The Senior Accountant will coordinate data between various stakeholders, including custodian banks and investment managers, and will be responsible for trade communications and journal entries related to portfolio rebalancing activities. Overall, this position is integral to ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the investment management operations at Ascension.
Responsibilities
? Responsible for detailed accounting and administration of multiple investment portfolios.

? Prepare and distribute monthly earnings allocation and all internal and external reporting (daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually).

? Reconcile monthly reporting, unitized plan accounting, general ledgers, and maintain detailed recordkeeping systems.

? Act as the first-line contact with Health Ministries concerning intercompany accounting and control pool reconciliations.

? Prepare audit supporting schedules and confirmation requests, including financial statement and footnote preparation.

? Liaise with custodial banks and administrators, ensuring financial integrity and implementation of new accounting practices.

? Monitor asset allocation for all portfolios and participants on a monthly basis.

? Coordinate data between custodian bank, investment consultant, and investment managers.

? Prepare foreign compliance and registration for investment managers.

? Manage trade communications, journal entries, and other communications for portfolio rebalancing activities.

? Responsible for the annual alternative manager audited financial statement and Form ADV review.
Requirements
? Accountant Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed preferred.

? High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or other pertinent field preferred.

? 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

? A CPA, MBA and/or CFA candidate is preferred.
