Job Summary

Cardiovascular (CV) Diagnostics Department is responsible for prepping and monitoring patients of all ages during several different types of stress tests for both the inpatient and outpatient population.

CV Diagnostics nurses also prepare patients for testing, administers moderate sedation, and monitors adult patient?s during Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) and Cardioversions.

During CV Diagnostics testing, the team collaborates closely with Cardiologists and Anesthesiology staff to ensure patients receive safe and high-quality care. You will operate at the top of your license within a highly autonomous team.

You will play an active role in preventing or addressing illness, disability, or injury, alleviating suffering, and advocating for patient care alongside interdisciplinary teams of healthcare providers, family members, and support systems. You will exercise independent judgment in using the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care in accordance with ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice, institutional policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Incorporates the ANA Nursing Process (2010) in the documentation of patient care:
? Acquires all-encompassing and essential facts about the individual's health status or situation.
? Reviewing the assessment data is essential to determine the diagnosis or problems present.
? The healthcare service provider can anticipate better patient health outcomes if the customized healthcare plan accounts for other factors such as lifestyle and environmental factors.
? Constructs a detailed roadmap that charts the course towards meeting predetermined goals.
? Implements the devised plan and tracks patient improvement to ensure they are on course.
? Care coordination ensures that patients receive comprehensive and continuous care.
? Through health teaching and promotion techniques, individuals are encouraged to prioritize their health and maintain a secure living environment.
? Consultation, a key responsibility of the advanced practice registered nurse and the nursing role specialist, plays a crucial role in influencing the identified plan, enhancing the competencies of others, and fostering forward-thinking changes.
? Analyzing the success level of achieving the predetermined outcomes.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position are at a very high level. This job requires constant exertion of force exceeding 25 pounds (67-100% of the time), frequent exertion of more than 50 pounds of force (34-66% of the time), and occasional exertion of more than 100 pounds of force (up to 33% of the time) when moving objects. Those in this position may also be exposed to various hazardous materials, such as radiation, and frequently exposed to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Furthermore, workers must be able to work designated shifts that may include 8, 10, or 12-hour work days, as well as occasional irregular hours or night shifts.
