Medical Office Administrative Assistant
Posted 2025-03-14The Administrative Assistant is responsible for handling daily office and clerical tasks to ensure smooth office operations and support business activities. The Administrative Assistant will respond in a timely manner to patient calls, documentation requests, and interoffice communication, while working closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate requires minimal supervision, possesses strong decision-making skills within set guidelines, and adheres to strict confidentiality and HIPAA requirements at all times.
Responsibilities
? Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while processing medical information.
? Utilize EHR systems and medical software for accurate data entry and retrieval.
? Assist with medical billing and collections, including understanding CPT coding and medical terminology.
? Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance office operations and patient care.
Skills
? Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, Excel, file management and other office and computer based procedures and terminology.
? Computer Literacy - Proficient computer skills in Google and Microsoft based applications: Email, Google Sheets, Excel, Word ,etc.
? Confidentiality - Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
? Health Systems knowledge - Basic understanding of medical terminology as well as the general process of medical coding, billing and insurance submission.
? Communication - Proficient communication skills with medical professionals, patients and external organizations. Ability to show tact and professionalism while representing the company to a variety of people. Able to communicate and listen effectively in an appropriate and positive manner.
? Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues.
? Experience with Human Resource related tasks.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates residing in Flagstaff, AZ
Regular availability weekdays M-F. Must be available on Mondays.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service
Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare industry
Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
Familiarity with medical coding and CPT codes
Secure internet access and remote work location
Ability to pass background checks and fingerprint ID
Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 ? 20 per week
