Senior Accountant (Public Accounting Exp. Req.) Description

Our client in the professional services industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Stamford, CT. This on-site role offers flexibility, with the option to work from home one day per week. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy during month-end and year-end close processes, and providing financial analysis.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a good knowledge of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and strong analytical capabilities. To excel in this role, you must be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to take on new challenges while further developing your expertise.

Senior Accountant (Public Accounting Exp. Req.) Responsibilities

? Play a lead role in supporting month-end and year-end close activities

? Prepare and process journal entries to ensure proper classification

? Review and analyze general ledger postings to ensure accuracy

? Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies via reconciliations

? Support with financial statement preparation and reporting

? Assist management with tax compliance and accounting administration

? Support the preparation of annual external audits & address auditor inquiries

? Analyze, book, and validate accruals, identifying areas for adjustment

? Confirm proper and timely revenue recognition

? Manage the evaluation of bad debt allowances and adjustments

? Respond to requests for financial information and data

? Recommend internal controls to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of accounting practices

Senior Accountant (Public Accounting Exp. Req.) Qualifications

? Bachelor?s degree is required

? 2+ years of public accounting experience is required

? Experience with general ledger analysis & journal entry auditing is required
? Strong Excel skills, including formatting, formulas (ex: VLOOKUP) & pivot tables, are required

? Ability to work on-site 4 days per week is required
