SVP Credit Underwriting Group Manager

Summary:
The Credit Underwriting Group Manager oversees the bank's credit underwriting program and may aid in the development of credit policies and procedures, credit approval process, and credit training and educational programs both internally and externally. This position will provide leadership and ensure adherence to policies and strategies to support the bank's credit risk appetite statement.
Job Requirements: ? Prefer a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of credit experience in lending. ? Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management position. ? Knowledge of lending activities, preferably with a working knowledge of SBA SOP. ? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. ? Proficient in industry software and Microsoft Office programs. ? Highly analytical. ? Ability to multi-task and deliver accurate results within established service-level timeframes. ? Must complete all required regulatory training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, and all others as assigned and a requisite to their position within the bank.
Job Functions:
? Has the primary responsibility to provide credit and loan underwriting expertise to the bank.
? Ensures the bank stays within the allowable guidelines of the GGL programs it serves.
? Oversee the loan underwriting process, which requires constant monitoring and modification to adhere the bank's loan process and credit risk appetite.
? Ensure the credit team is adequately staffed with a strong succession plan.
? Ensure timely delivery of a finished product in the form of a credit memorandum and spreads.
? Provide oversight of the bank's credit underwriting activities to ensure all policies and procedures are conducted with integrity and consistency.
? Ensure staff is educated adequately with development programs aimed at constant improvement and continuing education opportunities considered.
? Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems, or inquiries.
? Stays informed of industry best practices, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors, competition and relevant regulatory conditions.
? Create relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, examiners, and external and internal partners.
? Timely reporting of turnaround times and adherence to any SLA's or agreements on timing of requests.
? Ensure all data is protected and appropriate measures are in place to ensure the integrity of all data and adherence to strong credit standards.
Compensation is based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Travel as required for in-person meetings and/or training.
Expected to be in Greenville, SC office at least once a quarter if working remotely.
