Job Summary of Class A Local Delivery Driver:

You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely pickup, labeling, loading, and delivery of shipments. You will drive a tractor-trailer unit to and from customer locations and utilize Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to efficiently load and unload freight. This position involves a combination of driving and physical tasks, requiring a CDL license and HazMat endorsement, along with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service. The role is fast-paced and may require working various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Class A Local Delivery Driver:
? Utilize the appropriate equipment to collect, mark, and transport packages according to UPS policies and procedures.
? Operate a tractor-trailer unit to deliver items to various client sites and return to the starting location within a single shift.
? Use Material Handling Equipment (MHE), like pallet trucks and stand-up forklifts, to facilitate the loading and unloading of palletized freight.
? Fulfill responsibilities associated with dispatching, accepting, scanning, arranging, and restocking packages.
? Safeguard and deliver packages to residential and commercial destinations in a timely manner.
? Ensure that transportation safety guidelines are followed and packages are securely managed during transit.
? Follow the prescribed UPS standards for appearance and make use of the supplied uniform.
? Must be able to carry weights up to 70 pounds as necessary for the position.
? Guarantee top-notch customer service by making sure deliveries are both timely and accurate.
? Stay flexible with your working hours, including weekends, to meet the demands of the job.

Qualifications and Experience of Class A Local Delivery Driver:
? A current CDL (Commercial Driver?s License) issued in your state of residency is a prerequisite.
? HazMat endorsement required.
? Must pass a UPS road test, DOT physical (including a drug screen), and all necessary background checks.
? Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
? Practical familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations, involving the use of pallet movers and forklifts in various capacities.
? Dedicated to upholding safety standards and following delivery protocols.
? Aptitude to engage in work schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holiday shifts as required.
? Compliance with UPS?s appearance regulations and uniform expectations is mandatory.
? Exceptional customer service skills and a determined effort to meet delivery deadlines.
? To be considered, applicants must fulfill the requirement of being either a U.S. Citizen, National, or having the appropriate work authorization in the United States.
