Join us and contribute to Sedgwick being a great place to work. As an Experienced Property Desk Adjuster, you will handle losses and claims for property and casualty insurers. Your primary responsibilities will include examining insurance policies and other records to determine coverage, interviewing claimants and witnesses, consulting police and hospital records, estimating costs of repair or compensation, preparing reports, negotiating settlements, and recommending litigation when necessary. You will also assist in preparing loss experience reports to help determine profitability and calculate adequate future rates.

Responsibilities
? Examine insurance policies and other records to determine insurance coverage.

? Interview, telephone, and/or correspond with claimants and witnesses regarding claims.
,
? Consult police and hospital records and inspect property damage to determine the extent of the company's liability.
,
? Estimate cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
,
? Prepare report of findings and negotiate settlement with claimant.
,
? Recommend litigation by legal department when settlement cannot be negotiated.
,
? Attend litigation hearings.
,
? Revise case reserves in assigned claims files to cover probable costs.

? Assist in preparing loss experience report to help determine profitability and calculate adequate future rates.

Requirements
? High School Diploma or GED required.
,
? Appropriate state adjuster license is required.
,
? 3 or more years of property claims adjusting preferred.
,
? Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
,
? PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
,
? Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting.
,
? Strong customer service skills.
,
? Strong interpersonal skills.
,
? Attention to detail and accuracy.
,
? Good time management and organizational skills.
,
? Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
